§ Mr. Bestasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has on the burning by military personnel of Rodrigo Rojas and Carmen Gloria Quintana in Chile on 2 July; and if he will make representations to the Chilean ambassador.
§ Mr. EggarInvestigations by the Chilean military prosecutor into this atrocity are continuing. One army lieutenant has been charged with using unnecessary violence, which led to the death of Sr Rojas and serious injury to Srta Quintana.
We have made strong representations to the Chilean ambassador and to the Chilean Foreign Minister in Santiago, and have urged that the Chilean authorities publish soon the full facts of the case.
