asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many people there are in the South American Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; how many in the Falkland Islands Department; and how many in each department work on bilateral relations between this country and Argentina.

There are 18 (including support) staff currently working in both the South American and the Falkland Islands Departments of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Two officials in the Falkland Islands Department work exclusively on bilateral relations with Argentina. Fourteen others work on Falklands matters as well as on bilateral relations with Argentina.
