HC Deb 06 November 1986 vol 103 cc526-7W
Mr. Wareing

asked the Paymaster General what information about the adaptations to premises and equipment scheme, and other help extended by the Manpower Services Commission to employers and disabled employees is given to employers whenever they apply for a permit to employ a non-disabled person when they are under quota.

Mr. Lee

The Manpower Services Commission's programme to promote the adoption and implementation of constructive policies and practices towards the employment of people with disabilities has, amongst its aims, that of keeping employers generally aware of the services and support available, including the adaptations to premises and equipment scheme. In addition, where an employer applies for a permit to engage non-disabled people, it is the Manpower Services Commission's policy that information about help that is available for the adaptation of premises and equipment, together with other relevant services, is presented to the employer when he is asked to consider people with disabilities who may be available for such vacancies.
