§ Mr. David HuntThe Department's spend on projects based in Wales represents some 2 per cent. of its non-nuclear Research and Development expenditure, which is provisionally estimated to be £40 million in 1985–86. While it is not possible to identify all cases of public sector energy Research and Development in Wales, expenditure on Research and Development by the public sector fuel industries there is substantial and includes some £6.8 million by British Coal on the Point of Ayr project.
