Mr. Gareth Wardell

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish in the Official Report the number of registered drug addicts in each health authority in Wales for each of the past five years.

The numbers of new and former narcotic drug addicts notified to the Home Office are published annually. A copy of the Home Office's publication "Statistics on the Misuse of Drugs United Kingdom: Supplementary Tables 1984", which contains data for the most recent five years, is in the Library. Information relates to police force area and is not available by district health authority.
