HC Deb 03 November 1986 vol 103 c306W
Mr. Holt

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much of the money given to Her Majesty's Government by the United States Congress for expenditure in Northern Ireland has been spent, and on what purpose.

Mr. Scott

None. Under an agreement (Cmnd 9910) between the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and United States Governments the money is being held in trust until the international fund is legally established. This will only take place once the agreement establishing the fund (Cmnd 9908) has undergone the necessary parliamentary procedures in London and Dublin and the two Governments have exchanged notifications of its acceptance.
