§ Mr. Irvingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when the results of the investigation into the provision of clearer and firmer control guidance on planning and monitoring local mental health services will be published.
§ Mrs. CurrieAs noted in the Government Response* to the report of the Social Services Committee on community care (second report, 1984–85 Session), the Department is exploring the need for such guidance, including revision of the policy papers which were appended to the Government response. Any fresh guidance will be published in the normal way. Reports of the visits of the national development team for mentally handicapped people and of the health advisory service to individual areas are published, as are periodic general, reports by both bodies.
