asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will update the information on bed numbers given in his answer of 1 July 1985, Official Report, column 49, so as to give data for 1985 and 1986 to date.

We do not hold figures centrally for the provision of new beds and services in non-National Health Service facilities or the numerous very small schemes which are responding to the "care in the community" initiative.
