HL Deb 03 November 1986 vol 481 c1010WA
Lord Orr-Ewing

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What plans they are considering for facilitating the transfer of passengers and luggage between Gatwick and Heathrow.

Lord Brabazon of Tara

Discussions have been held with British Caledonian to see whether the present arrangements for passengers interlining between the two airports can be improved. One possibility might be the provision of sealed and bonded trucks for heavy luggage so that passengers using the coach service do not have to collect and carry their own luggage. British Caledonian is now considering whether it would he practical to change existing arrangements.
