HC Deb 03 November 1986 vol 103 c346W
Mr. Spencer

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many people were killed or injured over the last 12 months in accidents involving electric milk floats.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The information requested is not available. Although the police collect information about every road accident in which someone is injured, they do not record "electric milk floats" as a separate vehicle type. Milk floats are classed with "light goods vehicles". This situation is likely to remain for the time being, as a balance has to be struck between the additional police resources required and the usefulness, for road safety policy, of the additional data collected.
