HC Deb 22 May 1986 vol 98 cc290-1W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what types and levels of radioisotope, along with their chemical and biological half-lives, were emitted as a result of the 1957 Windscale fire; and how many people are expected to die or have died of cancer as a result.

Mr. Waldegrave

Full details are given in a report by the National Radiological Protection Board under the title "An assessment of the radiological impact of the Windscale reactor fire, 1957" November 1982 and "Addendum to report R.135" September 1983. Copies of these will be placed in the Library of the House.
