HC Deb 22 May 1986 vol 98 cc301-2W
Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Lord Privy Seal what savings have been made during the last 12 months from the recycling of polluted air through the air ducts servicing the windowless offices on the Upper Committee Corridor South; and if he will arrange for 100 per cent. fresh air to be circulated.

Mr. Biffen

All returned air is filtered before recycling. There is no reason on health grounds for changing the proportion of recycled air. One hundred per cent. fresh air is circulated once the heating is turned off and throughout the summer. I am advised that an estimated 20 per cent. energy saving is achieved in this area of the building during the winter months.
