HC Deb 22 May 1986 vol 98 c304W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received from other Governments opposing the export by Britain of military equipment and spare parts to Iran and Iraq; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

I refer the hon. Member to the answer my right hon. and learned Friend gave to the right hon. Member for Tweeddale, Etterick and Lauderdale (Mr. Steel) on 29 October 1985. Our strict policy remains unchanged. We have discussed our policy with a number of Governments, including both parties to the conflict.
