HC Deb 22 May 1986 vol 98 c307W
Mr. Pawsey

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of letters sent to him are answered within (a) two weeks, (b) three weeks, (c) four weeks, (d) five weeks, (e) six weeks and (f) more than six weeks.

Mr. MacGregor

The information in the form requested is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. However, for the first quarter of 1986 the average time taken for Treasury Ministers to answer letters from hon. Members was 18 working days.
