§ Mr. NewtonInformation on the amount of benefit paid to date is not available, but approximately 57,000 payments had been made to claimants living in Scotland by 6 May. When the period during which payments are likely to be made is over, local offices will be asked to make a return so that the total number of payments made for last winter, and the amount paid, can be calculated.
