HL Deb 12 May 1986 vol 474 c1027WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, following the statements by the Minister of State at the Home Office on 28th April 1986, and by the Baroness Hooper on 17th April 1986 (H.L. Deb., col. 767), they will now publish the corrected list of the 23 schools in Inner London, and the others elsewhere, which exclude police officers from classrooms.

The Parliamentary under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Glenarthur)

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the list of schools read out by the noble Lord on 17th April 1986 (H.L. Deb., col 764) was correct at the time it was compiled in April 1985 as a record of those schools reported by the police locally as having declined to participate in the Metropolitan Police Schools Programme. The Metropolitan Police do not maintain a current list of such schools but I understand that, of those listed, Ecclesbourne Junior Mixed and Infants School and William Tyndale Junior Mixed and Infants School now accept educational visits from the police.
