§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pursuant to his answer of 6 May to the hon. Member for Great Grimsby, whether he has any proposals to compensate British frozen food manufacturers for the loss of markets in Spain resulting from the increased tariff on frozen vegetables in the treaty of accession of Spain.
§ Mrs. Fenner[pursuant to her reply, 9 May 1986, column 267]: As I explained in that answer, it is difficult at this stage to make any precise assessments of the implications for our exporters' access to the Spanish market. We are actively seeking a reduction in the Spanish tariff on frozen peas and have no proposals to compensate British exporters affected by a Community problem.
