HC Deb 12 May 1986 vol 97 c311W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his present estimate of the total number of people in the east of Scotland whose employment has been affected by the expansion of the north-east drift net salmon fishery, including those whose jobs are dependent on angling and tourism; and if he can express this total in terms of man days per year.

Mr. John MacKay

I regret that information on employment in salmon fishing and related industries is not collected in a way in which it would be possible to make the kind of estimate the hon. Member has asked for.
