§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Prime Minister whether the Government will pay compensation to the families of British citizens allegedly killed in the middle east in reprisal for the American attack on Libya.
§ The Prime MinisterI regret that this is not possible. It has never been the practice of the British Government to make such payments. The murder of British citizens by terrorists is a matter of very deep regret, but we will not be deterred by threats of reprisals from our efforts to combat terrorism.
