§ Mr. EggarIn the United Kingdom, town twinning is co-ordinated by the joint twinning committee of Local Authority Associations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This body deals directly with local authorities and twinning associations in the United Kingdom. The FCO works closely with the joint twinning committee in the development of partnerships. Its departments in London and United Kingdom missions abroad also assist this process.
