Mr. Lyell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what was the total value of imports of timber to the United Kingdom for each of the past five years;

(2) what proportion of the total timber imported into the United Kingdom over the past five years is of a type which is grown commercially in the United Kingdom; arid if he will make a statement.
