§ 30. Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the ways in which he expects the new European Economic Community foreign policy secretariat to improve the coordination of foreign policy within the European Economic Community.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe new secretariat will work under The authority of the presidency of the day. It will help to provide continuity between presidencies. It will support the presidency in organising the work of political cooperation. And it will help to ensure consistency between foreign policy objectives identified by member states in political co-operation and the external policies separately decided upon within the Community framework on matters such as trade and aid.
