§ Mr. Wyn RobertsThe Welsh water authority regularly checks the level of acidity in river waters as part of the national harmonised monitoring scheme and in its assessment of river water quality. The Department is jointly funding with the Department of the Environment the study of acidification being jointly carried out by the Welsh water authority, the Natural Environment Research Council, the Forestry Commission and the university colleges of Wales, in the catchment areas feeding the Llyn Brianne reservoir.
