HC Deb 27 March 1986 vol 94 c587W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Attorney-General (1) whether he has any plans to review the status of the post of Social Security Commissioner for Wales;

(2) if the Lord Chancellor has any plans to abolish the adminstrative office of the Social Security Commissioner for Wales.

The Attorney-General

Consultations are in progress on a proposal to discontinue the administrative functions of the Cardiff office of social security commissioners and the permanent location of a commissioner there. No final decision has been taken. It is in any event the Lord Chancellor's intention that hearings will continue to take place in Cardiff.
