HC Deb 26 March 1986 vol 94 c526W
Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what grants were paid to the Semi-State Authority from the Republic of Ireland to develop the Russell Court hotel, Lisburn road, Belfast; and if he will make a statement on the status of this grant now that this hotel is closed.

Dr. Boyson

Grants totalling £587,000 were paid to the Russell Court Hotel Limited during 1971–1973. When the building was sold for non-hotel purposes, the Department of Economic Development recovered £48,942 under the terms of the grant offer.
