§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many (a) women and (b) men serve on (i) regional health authorities and (ii) district health authorities at the latest available date.
§ Mr. HayhoeI regret that I cannot give the hon. Member all the information he seeks. Some of it is not held centrally. District health authority members are appointed by the appropriate regional health authority and relevant local authorities. The hon. Member may therefore wish to seek this information from the chairman of the regional health authority concerned. Of the current regional health authority members 168 are men and 57 are women.
§ Mr. Meadowcroftasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report the numbers of district health authority chairmen and chairwomen who wished to continue in office but who were not re-appointed in each year since 1979, together with their length of service.
