§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received about the issuing of bogus university degrees; from which bodies he has received them; and what responses he has given.
§ Mr. WaldenMy right hon. Friend has received a number of representations from individuals, including several hon. Members, and from the College of Preceptors. Replies have emphasised that the government deplore the trade in bogus degrees and explained that proposals for possible legislation to curtail the activities of operators in this field are under consideration. I shall be replying to the College of Preceptors in similar vein.
