HC Deb 26 March 1986 vol 94 c484W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will consider providing extra finance to the University Hospital of Wales to cover the extra funds spent during the summer of 1985 to provide safe heat-treated blood products for haemophiliac patients.

Mr. Mark Robinson

Health authorities are expected to meet the costs of providing safe heat-treated blood products for haemophiliac patients. However, South Glamorgan health authority is expected to submit a case for designating the haemophiliac reference centre, at the University hospital of Wales, as a regional service. If the centre is so designated its running costs will be met by the Welsh Office.
