HC Deb 25 March 1986 vol 94 c421W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, further to his answer of 19 February, Official Report, column 214, he will identify the appropriate enforcement agency or agencies to which the Wildlife Inspectorate provides expert advice.

Mr. Waldegrave

The enforcement agencies to which the Wildlife Inspectorate may, when requested, provide expert advice concerning possible offences under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 can be any police force, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In the case of legislation governing trade in endangered species the enforcement agencies to which the Wildlife Inspectorate may provide expert advice can be any police force, Her Majesty's Customs and Excise or official agencies in other countries.
