HC Deb 25 March 1986 vol 94 c428W
Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what provision will be made for school lunches in the light of the South Eastern Education and Library Board's £400,000 budget cut in milk and meals for 1986–87.

Dr. Mawhinney

The board is still considering how its financial allocation for 1986–87 is to be spent and has not yet submitted its financial scheme to the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. It is intended, however, that school meals will continue to be available and that existing arrangements to provide school meals free of charge to those eligible to receive them will not be affected.
