HC Deb 25 March 1986 vol 94 c446W
27. Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on work his Department has carried out or had commissioned on board and lodging payments for people in residential care and nursing homes since April 1985.

Mr. Newton

I refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East (Mrs. Short) on 17 March at columns63–64.

60. Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress has been made in his review of the operation of the board and lodging regulations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

We are currently carrying out the review of the financial limits for all types of supplementary benefit board and lodging allowances and, as I indicated to my hon. Friend in my reply to him on 28 January at column782, it is our aim to reach conclusions in time for any changes to be made with the July uprating.
