HC Deb 25 March 1986 vol 94 c418W
Dr. Michael Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received about the installation of a barrier-less automatic level crossing in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

Chelmsford borough council made a statutory representation on the application by the British Railways Board for authority to install an automatic open level crossing (locally monitored) at South Woodham Ferrers. In addition, I have received a number of letters from local residents objecting to the board's proposals. All these representations were carefully considered before the decision was made to grant the board's application, which complied fully with the Department's published requirements.
