HC Deb 24 March 1986 vol 94 cc350-1W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he has given to the protest by Care in the Community—Scottish Working Group at the Government's proposal to seek to remove clause 8 of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Bill; if he will publish its submission; what action he is taking in response to it; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John MacKay

My right hon. and learned Friend is giving careful consideration to the numerous responses he has received from interested parties in Scotland to the Government's proposals for amending the Bill as contained in a consultation document issued on 14 February 1986. Copies of these responses have been sent to members of the Standing Committee which considered the Bill earlier this year and further copies are available for consultation by the public in the Scottish Office library in St. Andrew's house, Edinburgh.

Our conclusions in the light of these consultations will be communicated to the Bill's sponsors as soon as possible.
