§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsIn January 1986, the number of claimants unemployed for more than a year in Wales and Clwyd were 78,014 and 10,128, respectively. Figures available for 1979 cannot properly be compared with these since they relate to numbers registered, but were 22,844 for Wales and 4,117 for Clwyd.
