HC Deb 24 March 1986 vol 94 c376W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what studies he intends to initiate in the west midlands region to look into the number of young claimants under the age of 26 years who stay on at the same address when their entitlement to board and lodging assistance runs out, the number who stop claiming supplementary benefit and the proportion of these who find work, the number who go back to their parents and the number who go to stay with friends or relatives.

Mr. Newton

As part of their programme of work regional survey staff are looking at new and repeat claims for supplementary benefit from younger boarders in a small number of offices in the west midlands.
