§ Mr. RidleyAn interim report was published in April 1985. The various threads of the study are at different stages of advancement, and no interim report could contain final proposals. A number of route options that have been identified are expected to be discarded in the light of further work. In order to avoid causing any unnecessary concern and uncertainty to parties who might not in the end be affected, I have decided, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales, not to publish any further interim reports. I can assure my hon. Friend that the final report, which is still expected for the summer of this year, will be published.
