Mr. Corbyn

asked the Lord Privy Seal what information he has of the food preferences of Members of Parliament, staff and visitors to the Palace of Westminster and as to how many are (a) vegetarians, (b) vegans, (c) in need of a special diet for health reasons or (d) in need of a special diet for religious reasons.

Mr. Biffen

Comprehensive information of this nature is not available; but Members may express their views on existing arrangements to the General Manager of the Refreshment Department or to the Catering Sub-Committee.

Mr. Corbyn

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will take steps to ensure the presence of (a) vegetarian, (b) vegan, (c) Asian, (d) West Indian and (e) kosher food in the dining areas of the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Biffen

A daily vegetarian menu is available. Vegan, Asian, West Indian and kosher food can be made available by prior arrangement with the General Manager of the Refreshment Department.

asked the Lord Privy Seal how often vegetarian dishes are provided in the dining facilities within the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Biffen

Vegetarian dishes are provided every day and a special menu is displayed on each table accordingly.
