HC Deb 20 March 1986 vol 94 c278W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he has given to the report entitled "Fire Safety in the Home", published by the fire services committee of the Greater Manchester council; if there is any other action he will be taking; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Giles Shaw

Home Office officials are considering the report, which was recently sent to the Department and will consult as necessary with the other Government Departments concerned. The matters raised in the report which are primarily for this Department relate to the arrangements for fire safety education and publicity and the effectiveness of automatic fire detectors in the home. Both these subjects are kept under regular review.
