asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage of local government current spending will be met by central Government grants in 1985–86.

Mrs. Rumbold

On the basis of estimates in the Rate support Grant Supplementary Report (England) No. 2 1985–86, the percentage of local authority relevant expenditure supported by aggregate Exchequer grant is 46.6 per cent.
