asked the Paymaster General what has been the movement in wage levels for the top 20 per cent. of employees since 1979; and whether he will make a statement.

Between April 1979 and April 1985 the level of gross average weekly earnings exceeded by the top 20 per cent. of full-time adult employees increased by 97 per cent. for men and by 108 per cent. for women.
