HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 c104W
Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what have been the average fines for convictions for Sunday trading in each of the last three years.

Mr. Waddington

[pursuant to his reply, 13 March 1986, c.535]:

Records available to me, which may be incomplete, show the average fine imposed by magistrates courts in England and Wales for offences relating to Sunday trading as £44 in 1982, £100 in 1983 and £145 in 1984. Corresponding information for 1985 is not yet available.
