HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 c180W
Mr. Gareth Wardell

asked the Paymaster General if he will publish in the Official Report for the latest year for which information is available, for each right hon. and hon. Member, the arithmetic mean in days that his Department took to reply to letters.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I regret that the information is not available in the form requested. However, a sample survey taken for all replies dispatched in the month of March shows that the average time taken to reply was 14 working days from the date of receipt of the letter. If the hon. Member is concerned about a delay on a particular case, I would be very willing to look into the matter.
