HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 cc171-2W
26. Mr. Watts

asked the Paymaster General how many long-term unemployed have succeeded in finding work as a result of the counselling services provided in the pilot areas.

Mr. Lang

By 7 March, 629 people had left the unemployment register since being interviewed. Four hundred and thirty seven of these were placed in jobs or community programme vacancies as a direct result of submissions made during the counselling interviews.
