HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 c179W
70. Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Paymaster General if he will make a statement on his policy for job creation schemes for people over 50 years of age; and what is the present number of such people now on such schemes.

Mr. Lang

I refer the hon. Member to part 3.7 of volume 11 of the White Paper "The Government's Expenditure Plans 1986–87 to 1988–89" (Cmnd. 9702) which sets out the policy of the Department's employment measures. Statistics on the number of people over 50 benefiting from the employment measures could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
