asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much assistance from public funds has been received by Harland and Wolff since 1 April 1985 (a) by way of payments from the intervention fund, (b) by way of interest-free unsecured loans and (c) otherwise.

Dr. Boyson

Since 1 April 1985 Harland and Wolff has received the following assistance from public funds:

  1. (a) £4,250,000 in payments from the intervention fund;
  2. (b) £31,384,868 in interest-free unsecured loans; and
  3. (c) £1,549,888 of standard regional grants.
