HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 c178W
61. Mr. Evennett

asked the Paymaster General if he has any plans to increase resources available to the Health and Safety Executive for the investigation of air pollution; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Trippier

Decisions on the allocation of resources to particular areas of work are a matter for the executive, subject to the limits set by the Government on its total salary expenditure and manpower. The executive plans to increase the number of industrial air pollution inspectors in the field, up to five new inspectors are expected to take up post shortly.
