§ 35. Dr. Twinnasked the Secretary of State for Transport how many major national road contracts have been completed (a) late and (b) early in the last year.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThirty-six major national road contracts have been completed in 1985–86. All finished within the contract period, although in some cases extensions of time were granted to take account of factors, such as bad weather, outside the contractor's control. In terms of the original completion date, 19 contracts finished early and a further eight were on time.
