HC Deb 17 March 1986 vol 94 c37W
Mr. Best

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement about the chairmanship of the Health Education Advisory Committee for Wales.

Mr. Mark Robinson

I have received recently the resignation of Mr. Norman Whitehouse as chairman of the Committee and consequently as the Welsh representative on the Health Education Council, on his appointment as secretary to the British Dental Association. Mr. Whitehouse has had a most successful tenure as chairman of the committee and I wish him well in his new post. I am pleased to announce that Dr. Simon Smail, senior lecturer in general practice at the University of Wales college of medicine, has accepted my invitation to become chairman of the advisory committee with effect from 1 April 1986. He has served on the Health Education Council since 1980 and is already an active member of the advisory committee.
