§ Sir Geoffrey Finsbergasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he will next review the representation on the teachers' panel of the Burnham primary and secondary committee.
§ Sir Keith JosephI do not think that it would be appropriate to consider holding such a review until the independent panel recently appointed by ACAS to assist management and teachers in negotiations on various matters, including procedures for negotiation, has completed its work. In the meantime I will continue to keep changes in membership of the teacher unions under careful observation.
