§ Mr. RaisonBritish industry benefits substantially from the aid programme. Bilateral aid is generally tied to procurement in Britain and the value of multilateral aid contracts placed in Britain exceeds the value of our contributions to the agencies concerned. Over the last three years, the aid and trade provision has supported £1 billion of exports. By 1988–89, the new soft loan scheme is expected to enable us to double the amount of ATP-supported business annually.
